My grandmother Alma had grandparents who were born in Sweeden.  She told of visiting a place they lived which is the Isle of Visby in the Baltic Sea.  Maybe my study and intrigue of topics about oceans is a connection with my people.  Perhaps my German ancestors also had a proximity to the Baltic or the North Sea.  As a child of the Midwest I didn't experience an ocean til a teenager.  That was the Atlantic off the coast of South Carolina, and later visited Cape Cod and the Gulf of Mexico.  Now we are homeowners on the Gulf.  Imagine my inspiration with events of nature there. An entire decade of my life has been spent in designing and painting sea related themes.
